Peter Chylík

A mature man in his fifties, full of energy, fully committed to work – and suddenly it came. Something unknown.

At work, my hands stopped cooperating, especially their fine motor skills. At home, they noticed that something was generally not right – my posture, my walk, increased fatigue, and later hand tremors, but I still refused to admit anything was wrong. It was only a meeting with my extended family that forced me to seek medical help.

And then everything moved very quickly – diagnosis, realization, and acceptance of Parkinson’s disease. Several years of medication treatment followed, as well as deep brain stimulation, which significantly alleviates some symptoms of the disease. So living with my UNCHOSEN (disease) has become easier. We are in a constant battle – sometimes Parkinson wins, sometimes I do.

WITH PARKINSON’S, YOU ARE NEVER ALONE.
